My gr. gr. grandfather

Normally I would move on to the maternal side of my dad’s line, but I wanted to share something I found recently while looking for documents to add to my family tree.
Alfred Thomas Peters was one of my immigrant ancestors. He came to America from Cornwall, England. He married Prothica Northcott who was born in New Jersey and they moved to the small town of Iron Mountain, Michigan. I recently found Alfred’s death certificate.

I have absolutely no idea why he was down in El Paso, Texas because his home was the upper Midwest. His death certificate even says that his residence was Iron Mountain, Michigan, but this really does appear to be him. He passed away on the 4th of June 1904 from Consumption (known today as Tuberculosis). He was just short of his 40th birthday. The certificate also says he was still an alien which means he never obtained his U.S. citizenship.

This was my gr. gr. grandmother, Prothica (pronounced Protheesha) Northcott. She married William Brewer after Afred’s death.

She passed away in 1908 just before her 33rd birthday. She passed away from Acute Nephritis Eclampsia because of a pregnancy.
Thomas and his siblings were found on the 1910 census as nieces and nephews to the head of the household.
